CLASSIFICATION
MEETING - JULY 6, 2012
The Amateur Softball
Association currently has a
national player database which compiles data on
players from information provided at national tournaments. That
database has been updated for the 2012 season. An appeal button has been
restored on the right side of each player's page allowing that player to
appeal his or her rating. Appeals will be reviewed by the Adult Slow
Pitch Classification Board.
Our association is looking to expand upon
the national requirements to include all players. Some states that are currently using such a database are
doing so at
GoSoftball.com. Men's and women's slowpitch will continue to
adhere to the following
national rules:

Men's A
= Five (5) Players from the ASA Restricted Players List

Men's B
= Three (3) A Rated players and no players Class A+ or from the
Restricted Player List
-
Men's C
= Three (3) B classified players and no players from Class A, Class
B+, or the ASA Restricted Player's List
-
Men's D
= Three (3) C classified players and no players from Class A, Class
B, Class C+, or the Restricted Player's List
-
Men's E/Rec I
= Three (3) D classified players and no players from Class A, Class
B, Class C, Class D+ or the Restricted Player's List

Men's Masters 35-Over, 40-Over, and 45-Over Slow
Pitch
=
Competitive division
will be allowed up to three (3) players from the ASA Restricted
Players List.
Recreation division
will be allowed up to three (3) Class C rated players and no players
rated A+, A, B+, B, C+ or from the ASA Restricted Player List

Women's Open
= Any Female Player
-
Women's C
= Three (3) Open classified players
-
Women's D
= Three (3) C classified players and no Open classified players

Co-ed Open
= Any Female Player and two (2) male players from the ASA Restricted
Players List

Co-ed C
= No Open classified female players and no male classified players
from Class A, Class B, or the ASA Restricted Player's List
-
Co-ed D
= Two (2) female C classified players and two (2) male C classified
players. No Open classified female players or male players from
Class A, Class B, or the ASA Restricted Players List
Additionally, NDASA will implement the following
classification rules for starting in the 2012 season:

Men's Rec II = may have no more than
one (1) D rated
player and three (3) Rec I rated players, but no A, B, C or D+ rated
players

Men's Rec III = may have no more than
two (2) Rec I
rated players and three (3) Rec II rated players, but no A, B, C or
D rated players

Men's Rec IV = may have no more than
two (2) Rec II
rated player and three (3) Rec III rated players, but no A, B, C, D
or Rec I rated players
-
Women's Rec I = may have no more than
three (3) D rated
players, but no Open or C rated players
-
Women's Rec II = may have no more than
one (1) D rated
player and three (3) Rec I rated players, but no Open, C or D+ rated
players
-
Women's Rec III = may have no more than
one (1) Rec I
rated players and three (3) Rec II rated players, but no Open, C or
D rated players
